Through the Eyes of Faith:  

A Study Guide on Alabama Tax Reform, 2003

This study guide is assembled as 5 separate lessons, accompanied by a resource manual.  (Resource Manual available online soon.)

The five lessons are designed to look at tax reform from 5 different angles, rather than being being a consecutive series.  Our hope is that groups with a limited schedule can pick any lesson based on the topic of most interest to them and have a meaningful discussion without having to work through the other lessons as a prerequisite.  We think that this is an important feature because time is short before the September 9 election and few groups will have 5 meetings available before that date.

Of course, we think that there is important content in all five lessons, so we don't want to limit or discourage anyone from pursuing all of them if they can.  

The current version of this study guide is oriented toward the Christian faith.  We are hoping to collaborate with the Jewish community on producing very soon a version based on the teachings of Judaism.

The lessons are available here as .html documents and as Adobe Acrobat .pdf files.  The content is the same in both formats, but Acrobat has the distinctive advantage of keeping the original formatting consistent.   You can download Adobe Acrobat Reader for free at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.  It's a little bit of a hassle but it's easier than trying to figure out how to format documents so that you can print them easily.
